August 23 2019 Mrs. Vaden’s Social Studies classes traveled this week to New England and to the Rocky Mountains! Students read colorful brochures of Fall Foliage Fun and A Winter Wonderland of Survival, and worked in teams to “pack their gear” for the two adventures. The students are studying the Five Themes of Geography, and utilized their skills to determine their needs based on climate and environment for each outing. The Five Themes of Geography background gives greater understanding of the influences that shape the History 5 th graders will study throughout the year.
