Mrs. Light's math class has been concluding our geometry study with quadrilaterals. Students worked in groups and were given a quadrilateral to to draw, define, and tell what types of angles and sides each had. The students were able to show off their creativity and knowledge by creating a poster. Once they had discovered this information, they reinforced their knowledge by playing quadrilateral spoons. This game is played similarly to the card game spoons. Students had to match two pictures of the figure, the word and the definition during the game. Now, every day they ask if we can play quadrilateral spoons!

5th grade math students at Beebe Middle School went on a scavenger hunt this week taking pictures of various geometric shapes they encountered along the way with our Chromebooks. These pictures were dropped into our shared Google Classroom and then displayed on the Sharp Board back in class for identification and classification.

Mrs. Vaden's 5th grade Social Studies classes have been investigating the 5 Themes of Geography. On a recent scavenger hunt in the "Beebe Middle School" region, students observed elements of the 5 Themes. Students will be able to transfer this knowledge to the state of Arkansas, The United States, North America, and the world as we delve into History Alive! The United States through Industrialism.
