The Beebe School District provides an educational setting that gives every student an equal opportunity for learning. Our desire is to ensure no homeless student is denied this opportunity because of unfortunate circumstances resulting in the family having lost their permanent residence. Homeless children are those who lack a fixed, regular and adequate nighttime residence, including those who share housing due to loss of housing or economic hardship or similar reasons. This could include students living in motels/hotels, at campgrounds, in cars, in parks, in abandoned buildings, or other similar settings.
If a situation of homelessness should arise with you or someone you know, the family should contact their child’s school counselor, or contact Theresa Gilliam, Homeless Liaison, at (501) 882-5463. The school will make every effort to ensure the affected children receive the educational services according to the Education Rights of Homeless Students under the McKinney-Vento Act.
