History Alive – In social studies we have been studying how the first Americans adapted to their environment. There were eight main Indian cultures in North America, and their ability to live came from their being able to adapt to the land. Students completed graphic organizers with information on these eight Indian cultures, and created annotated diagrams of those various Indian groups.
Reading and Writing has been mostly pre-testing and assessing, but we have found time to complete reviews of writing skills and reading strategies. In writing this week, we completed parts of speech posters, and reviewed our knowledge of this with our peers. Reading, we spent time discussing the short story, Stray, and completed a “book tasting,” sampling a variety of books from different genres.
