Mrs. Belew's Science classes have just started a new unit on Growth and Development and Plant/Animal Adaptations. After some background learning about how plants and animals must adapt to survive in certain environments, students got to research some unusual plant adaptations and create posters showcasing their research! Plants such as the Mojave Yucca have extremely waxy coatings to prevent evaporation, and the Voodoo Lily smells like rotten meat to attract flies are just two of the very unique plants they researched!
