In social studies the students are finishing their study on Chapter 3: The English Colonies in North America. Students have recently expanded their vocabulary with words like democracy and cash crops. They have also been working on their map skills by creating a large scale map of North America, Europe, Africa, and South America on the classroom floor.
\r\nIn literacy we are about to finish our first read aloud of Saving Wonder. The students have also enjoyed learning how to speak figuratively in their narrative writing.
\r\nIn Mrs. Light's math class students are using mental strategies for multi-digit multiplication.
\r\nMatter and mass are the topics of the day for science. Experiments have been conducted using triple beam balances.
