Kindergarten went on even w/out power. We ate in our rooms, had recess, read books, wrote about the Pumpkin patch(our trip Wed.), and made pumpkins! ~Ms. Barrentine

When the ‘lights went out at BEC’ 🎶 Our cafeteria staff rocked! They had lunches packed in to go trays and all of Kindergarten & 1st grade ate in their classrooms. Also, our bldg staff checked on & helped in all classrooms.

Lunch bunch in Mrs Chessers class today.

Many of our youngest students miss 10 percent of the school year—about 18 days a year or just two days every month.
Chronic absenteeism in kindergarten, and even preK, can predict lower test scores, poor attendance and retention in later
grades, especially if the problem persists for more than a year. Do you know how many young children are chronically
absent in your school or community?
